The Ugly Truth
Do you consider telling a family member or close friend the truth about how you feel concerning a poor decision that has been made or do you play the kind friend and tell them what they want to hear?
Sometimes telling the truth is ugly, but we must understand that being candid is a motivator for the recipient and provider.
The honest conversation has been lost for some time, and as individuals, we feel the need to hide what is creating knots in our stomach. Candid conversation provides growth and builds character; more importantly, openness creates healthy dialogue. Please understand I'm not saying to walk in a room with guns blazing but instead lead with a pleasant tone and provide the reasoning behind your thought process. Do you feel you are a candid person, or are you someone that protect feelings?
